Being able to make that choice necessarily
involves the ability to resort to force to end a conflict,
if the situation does not allow a non-violent resolution.
In other words, employing the minimum amount of force and
imposing the minimum amount of damage possible.
Aikido technique includes pins, throws and
also occasional strikes - all of which rely essentially on
one's ability to lead, blend, control and finally neutralize
the attack out of an immovable center.
